Wynwood Kitchen Miami

by Sun

If there is one place where you can enjoy the high energy of a visual feast while you are dining in Miami, it would be Wynwood Kitchen on second Saturday of every month. Of course you can go there any time, but only one day a month, all of the galleries and art studios in the Wynwood Art District near the Design District open up their doors to the public for "Art walk". The whole area gets packed with people, food trucks, and even some decent street performances.

Wynwood Kitchen stands in the middle of all these heavy activities and right next to " The Wynwood Walls - Graffiti Art ". My preferred sitting is outdoor in the back where on one side, you can watch people walking by the Graffiti Art Wall and the on other side be surrounded by all of the colorful wall paintings. I didn't have much expectation for the food but was very pleased with overall quality and taste.

The food is served as Tapa style to share. The Ropa Vieja Empanadas, Flash Fried Bok Choy with soy garlic dressing, Brussel Sprouts stood out among the dishes we ate. Probably will be ordering Skirt Steak and Gambas al Ajillo again next time. Big thumbs down on the Lemon-Pepper Calamari and Hamachi Ceviche.

If you want to have a good cup of latte or cappuccino after dinner, you can walk two blocks to Panther Coffee where they roast coffee beans on the site and many people claim that they have the best coffee in Miami. My latte was quite satisfying and lt's so nice seeing a new good coffee place other than Starbucks!
